Bill will you be in attendance for the Alumni game next weekend? If so, as media or as a fan...hopefully like the rest of us, as a fan.

Have to say I was pretty impressed with all the Flyers prospects. They all showed something. David Bernhardt was surprisingly a better skater than I expected. A lot to be excited about.

Bill, what about the D pairings? Did they change? I think they have become stale, especially Provorov-AMac.

Also, I like the revised forward lines generally speaking. Worth a shot!

Bill, I've been reading you for 8-9 years now and this Konecny thing is the first time I disagree with you, although it sounds like you're finally coming around with your "rookie wall" assessment. I'll say it again, Konecny is mentally swimming out there. He has been for at least a month. He has all the physical tools, there's no doubt, but mentally he is in La La Land. It was a great decision for Hakstol to bench him a game. I'd like to see him benched every 4th game to recalibrate his mind. If I could send him to the AHL I would. Since we can't, he needs some more bench time. You obviously can't keep him there more than 25% of the time because he's too skilled, but he doesn't have Provorov's brain.

Awesome write up about all our players. I'm most ecstatic to hear that Rubstov's coming over to the CHL. I was just thinking about that yesterday... praying almost, that he get put in the CHL next year. This year is a massive bonus. Cheers.

Bill,

If Rubstov does not appear in a QMJHL game, would he be eligible for the Phantoms this/next year?

Awesome blog today.

I think any changes on defense will have to wait till Streit can go. Which is hopefully going to be on Tuesday at Buffalo.

To Boyer83:

Let's see a 19 year old kid who is in the top 10 in scoring and probably is out 15 points cause some of our team can't finish/shoot at a clip above 10%.

Never once seen the kid take a shift off, always hustles, and see him collect crappy passes into his skates and still controls puck.

Your analysis of this kid my friend I think is way off!

Only six games left till another five day break.

Oh and today is the anniversary of the Vinny/Luke trade to LA. We still have AHL All-star Jordan Weal and used their 3rd rounder to take Carson Twarynski. Vinny is of course retired, while old Schenn moved on to the desert.

Twarynski, statistically, has regressed a bit. But whatever, I'd have taken nothing and been happy with it.

I saw the title "lines juggled" and I got very worried.

Thank GOODNESS we still have Vandevelde in there. That could've been bad.

Losing Sanheim, and then Bean to injury for all but 8 games must have hurt their offense a lot because they are 21st out of 22 WHL teams in goals scored.

Would still be anyway, ala Julius Honka. But probably not AHL ready yet for the role that is envisioned down the line.

Yeah, it's unfair to point to Gwar's numbers at face value and make an assessment. Calgary is a black hole. Bean coming back will help as much as it can. But, personally, I didn't like the pick that much, and he's low ceiling anyway. Scoring just won't be prevalent in his NHL future.

He's a guy that I do wonder if they'll give him a pro contract or have him play another year in Calgary. He's a 97, so he's AHL eligible. But depending on the shape of the Phantoms and given his junior career, maybe another year in the Dub would be better.

You told me you'd take me to see that.....

You owe me a movie. And it's probably going to have to be Collateral Beauty.
